Thuja occidentalis "Hetz's Wintergreen"

Do you love the characteristics of the Thuja Green Giant but need something that doesn't grow as tall or as wide? 

Thuja occidentalis "Hetz's Wintergreen" could be the tree for you. We are EXCITED about this tree!  Here's why:

• Thuja "Wintergreen" will max out at 20' - 25' tall and 8' feet wide. (Plant as close as 4' apart)
• It is considered a moderate to fast grower.
• Field performance reports for Thuja Hetz Wintergreen are better than Green Splendor or Steeplechase.
• Hardiness zone 4 - 7.  Thuja Wintergreen is more cold hardy than Green Giant. (Some experts even say 3 - 8) 
• Thuja Wintergreen keeps its green color better than Green Giant through the winter.  (There will still be some bronzing, just not as much.)

Currently we have only a few 1 gallon Thuja Wintergreen trees available (15" - 17" tall) but will have plenty more in time for fall planting. We expect sales to be brisk on these so, call soon to secure yours for Fall or Spring delivery.  The picture below is what is available now.   Our fall stock will be taller.
